Multiphysics geomechanics

We use our knowledge in continuum mechanics and non-equilibrium thermodynamics to solve complex geoengineering problems under influences of mechanical, hydraulic, chemical and thermal interactions. For example, how gas flows in coal seam under the action of cleat flow, matrix diffusion, sorption and stress coupling.

Hydraulic fracturing under multiphysics loading

Our laboratory facilities and in-house simulators allow us to address various facets of hydraulic fracture treatments from lab to field scale. This includes hydraulic fracture initiation, mixed-mode fracturing, pressure dependent leak-off (PDL) and proppant placement.
